I’m an East Coast gal at heart who loves a great kitchen party and a feed of lobster. I was born in Nova Scotia and grew up on beautiful Cape Breton Island before heading west to Toronto, Calgary, Cold Lake, Texas and now back to Calgary again!
I married my high school sweetheart and we have three daughters ages 10, 14 and 16 – that’s my Party of Five.
I graduated from Carleton University in Ottawa with a Journalism degree and landed my first job with MITV, now Global Halifax, in the early 90’s. I joined Canada’s Weather Network as an environment reporter, then moved on to become the Maritime Bureau Chief and eventually a national weather anchor based in Mississauga, Ontario. A move out west brought me back into the Global family, where I worked as a health reporter and producer/anchor weekdays on Global Calgary’s Early News at 5 pm. Since leaving Global, I have pursued healthcare communications consulting as well as magazine writing, blogging and social media reporting.
My husband and I return home to our roots every summer to visit our families and enjoy the natural beauty that Nova Scotia is famous for.
