Smart solution to a stinky problem
A couple of months ago my daughter had a nasty skin reaction to traditional deodorant. An itchy, painful rash that lasted for weeks was enough for me to start looking for an alternative that might be easier on her sensitive skin and contain more natural ingredients.
Well, guess what? I found the best natural deodorant and it’s made right here in Calgary!!
Calgary company finds the sweet smell of success
Routine was started by two Calgary sisters, Neige and Pippa, who wanted to solve the problem of BO with a product that was good for them and the environment.
They have a very simple message – “What you put onto your body, goes into your body.” They use all natural ingredients, including minerals that are actually good for you.
We decided to give Routine a try and we are hooked! I absolutely love the smell…it stays with you all day, and even stands up to my workouts and my daughter’s dance classes.
Probably the biggest thing to get used to is the way it’s applied…you simply slather it on your armpits. It’s funny because we’re not conditioned to touching ourselves there. It’s not a biggie at all; you just put it on like you would a body cream.
Routine uses natural deodorizers like baking soda and magnesium
We used the baking-soda free line because of my daughter’s sensitive skin. Baking soda is a great natural deodorizer, but in this line baking soda is replaced with dietary magnesium – a mineral that if you’re not getting enough of, can cause your sweat to smell worse! On your armpits, magnesium works like a charm. Another benefit of magnesium: it aids in relaxing the armpits, which in turn, fends off those terrible stress sweats!
Use Routine on your feet…and other stinky places
As a dance mom, I’m continually surprised at just how stinky these pretty little feet can get. So, it turns out, Routine cream can also be used in multiple places…even on feet. So, I’m encouraging her to rub Routine on her feet before dance class. And, you know how stinky those Uggs can get? Not anymore.
Since she started using Routine, my daughter says her friends at school keep asking her why she smells so good! We love two scents in particular – Curator and Superstar.
Superstar has scents of vanilla, vetiver, bourbon, cardamom and black pepper. It also has activated charcoal and magnesium…sounds weird, I know, but it smells amazing!
The Curator has notes of cocoa and eucalyptus. A 58-ml jar will last between 3-6 months and has a shelf life of one year after opening.
